Youth & Sports Devt Topmost Priority In The New Year- Kogi State Govt.

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo says Sports and Youth development will be given necessary support and attention in the new year.

The Governor stated this in Lokoja while speaking to Newsmen on the plans for Sports and Youth development year Twenty, Twenty- Five.

Represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe, Governor Ododo said the current administration has programmes targeted at the sector for enhanced empowerment.

According to him, sports will receive a boost in the scheme of things to project the State better and receive more laurels by sustaining adequate support for the State contingent at all times.

He disclosed that the Confluence Stadium Lokoja will be given a face lift through remodeling to International standard with the needed equipment for optimum performance.

According to the Hon Commissioner, stakeholders in the sporty sector will be carried along to ensure the success of plans outlined by the present administration.

Sports competition will be considered in the three Senatorial District for grassroots development, he stressed.

The Commissioner commended the Kogi State Sports Council for winning Gold Medals in the outings, saying more support would be given to them this year to perform better.

On the handball game in the state, the Commissioner said model standard work is going on at the Kogi State Sports center towards enhancing handball activities in the state.

On, youth development, Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe said line up of programmes have been earmarked towards ensuring the progress and growth of Youth in the state.

Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe called on sports lovers and Youth developers to join hands with the Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to develop sporting activities and the empowerment of Youths as the sector requires collective efforts.

While urging staff and the management to work as a team for the greater success of the Ministry reassured of the commitment of all to the success of the present administration.
