Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Nasarawa State Council, has appealed to Governor Abdullahi Sule to pay the gratuity of local government retirees in the state.

Spokesperson for the Union, Comrade Abdullahi Ladan made the plea during a news briefing to mark the 2021 Pensioners Day in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital.

Comrade Ladan said the call became imperative considering the hardship Local Government retirees in the state have been passing through over the years due to non-payment of their entitlements.

He commended the Governor for his personal interest in the welfare of retirees, especially with respect to prompt payment of their monthly allowances in the last two years.

Comrade Ladan urged the state government to give more attention to the payment of pensioners gratuities.
