Christians have been charged to live a life worthy of emulation in the service of God and mankind.

The Bishop of Ijumu Diocese of the Anglican Communion, Reverend Paul Olarewaju Ojo made the call at the funeral service of late Chief Julius Adeleye Olowoniyi at Iyara, Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Bishop Ojo said a life well spent was such that served God and humanity with utmost sacrifice which he stressed was found in the deceased.

He urged the children of late Chief Julius Adeleye Olowoniyi to emulate the sterling qualities of their Father of hard work, love, integrity and service towards the growth and development of the Church and Iyara Community.

The Cleargyman admonished the people to get involve in the development of thier places of origin as well as help in building the house of God and propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Bishop also appealed to Christians to participate actively in politics as the 2023 elections draw near to change the narrative in the political scene.

In a valedictory speech, the immediate past DLG of the Ijumu Local Government Area, Mr Kayode Dare described the deceased as quintessential servant leader who served sincerely with utmost sense of responsibility in the community, State and the nation.

Speaking about their father, some of the children, Mrs Eunice Fayomi, Doctor Funsho Olowoniyi, Mrs Hellen Babalola and Benjamin Olowoniyi described him as a disciplinarian who loved all and want the best out of them.

According to them late Chief Julius Adeleye Olowoniyi gave academic and spiritual life to both his children and others alike under his tutelage who are making meaningful impact in their various field of endeavors across the globe.

Highlights of the funeral service was redition in songs by pupils, the Cathedral choir and other individuals eulogizing the great work of the deceased.

Late Hon Chief Julius Adeleye Olowoniyi died on the 11th of October 2021 @ the age of 88years was laid to rest on the 21st of January, 2022 at his Otun Quarters Residence, Iyara.
