Latest report on the August 5th Gunmen Attack on a bus conveying some Indian expatriates and Police escort indicated that three of the expatriates working with the Royal Ceramics Company were abducted.

The gunmen it was also gathered made away with AK-47 rifles of two police inspectors killed during the attack.

According to report, only one expatriate was killed and not two as earlier indicated in a statement by the Police.

The Expatriates were said to be on thier way to quarters which is less than 200 metres from the factory when the gunmen opened fire on them at about 8:30pm.

Four policemen were said to be escorting them in two official vehicles when the incident happened.

“The victims were attacked shortly after they left the factory for thier quarters near River Niger Bridge” said a source from the village.

Meanwhile, corpses of the victims was said to have been deposited at the morgue of ASCOL Medical Centre located in Ajaokuta Steel Complex.

The younger brother of one of the drivers killed, Abubakar Mohammed said he spoke with his late brother, Ibrahim Garba , a senior driver with the Royal Ceramic Company around 8pm.on the day of the attack only to receive a phone call at about 8:30pm of his death

In a reaction, Kogi State Government described the incident as unfortunate.

In a statement by the State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo said security agencies are on the trail of the perpetrators of the heinous act.

Fanwo who said Government is on top of the situation, appealed to residents to cooperate with security agencies to enable them perform their duties effectly.

He urged the people of the State to remain calm, go about thier daily activities and also report suspected individuals to the appropriate authority.
