Kogi 2022 Budget: University Don Advocates Consolidation of Ongoing Projects

A University Don. Doctor Joseph Adebisi has called on government at all levels to focus on consolidation of ongoing projects in the coming year.

Doctor Adebisi made the call while speaking on budget estimate presented by the Kogi State Government for next year in Lokoja.

He said there is the need for consolidation of projects as well focus on welfare, small scale businesses and meaningful engagement of youths in view of the downward economy trend in the country.

The University Don who is also the Head of Department of Accountancy, Kogi State University, Anyigba said the that the outgoing year is a challenging one for the nation especially in terms of security but also acknowledged the various policies of government to check the trend.

He described as exceptional the measures put in place by the Kogi State Government in tackling the security challenges across the State and appealed for more attention in the coming year.

On the level of budget execution by the government in the outgoing year, the University Don said the Governor’s presentation at the State House of Assembly was transparent and pragmatic enough which he stressed would also translate in effective budget execution in the coming year.

He charged those saddled with budget implementation to rise to the task for a virile twenty, twenty two.

On the ongoing construction of Ganaja- flyover bridge by the State Government, Doctor Adebisi said when completed, it will reduce hold up and time wastage by motorists, emission of gases from vehicles and unparallel development in the State Capital, Lokoja.

The former Director General, College of Accountancy, Jos also advocated for economic ranching by the Federal Government to reduce incessant farmers/herders clashes in the country as being practiced in other developed countries.
