Employers of Labour have been charged to sustain a cordial working relationship with thier employees.

Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier General Ibrahim Shuaibu gave the charge in a message to the twenty, twenty- one Corps Employers Workshop in Lokoja, Kogi State.

Represented by Alhaji Yusuf Abdullahi, General Shuaibu stressed the need for employers of Corps Members nationwide to utilize the potentials inherent in them as well as give high priority to the welfare of Corpers in their organization.

The DG said the forum holding across the thirty-six States and the FCT has recorded several successes since it’s inception.

“This programme serves as an avenue for exchange of ideas on the improvement of our operations, especially through the provision of enabling environment for Corps Members to render qualitative and efficient services to thier employers.

“In fulfilment of it’s objectives, the NYSC is promoting national unity and accelerated socio-economic development of the nation as well as instilling in our youths a tradition of industry at work and of patriotic and loyal service to Nigeria amongst other activities”

In her remark, the Kogi State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs Ofoluwaso Williams described members if the scheme as highly skilled personnel and urged employers to be up to date in thier responsibilities to the Corps Members.

Mrs Williams said that the workshop gas afforded them the opportunity to interface with Corps Members employers as well as created avenues to sort out issues affecting their welfare among other things.

She enjoined the Corps Members to remain good ambassadors of the scheme and also impact the society positively by leaving good legacies before the completion of thier service year.

The workshop with the theme: “Optimizing the NYSC and Corps Employers’ Partnership for National Development in the Context of the New Normal” has several employers from Ministries, Non Governmental Organizations, Agencies among others in attendance also featured paper presentations at the Adankolo Campus of the Federal University Lokoja.
