Governor Yahaya Bello says the priority of his administration among other things is the protection of lives and security of the people of Kogi State.
Governor Bello stated this while speaking with newsmen at his hometown Agassa, in Okene Local Government of the State.
He said the call became imperative in view of the security challenges in the country hence the need for collective efforts by all with security agencies to curb the trend.
The Governor appealed to the people to support Government desires to rid the State of criminal elements.
Governor Bello assured of the determination of his administration to make Kogi State safer for all to dwell and engage in meaningful businesses.
On the recent attack on Kuje Correctional facility, Governor Bello described the incident as unfortunate.
Also speaking, the Chief Imam of Agassa, Alhaji Salihu Suleiman cautioned Muslim Faithfuls to continue to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, love, peace and unity.
While on Sallah homage to the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland, Alhaji Ado Ibrahim, the Governor who commended the traditional ruler for his fatherly role in maintaining peace in Ebiraland intimated him of his plan to inspect completed and ongoing projects in the area in preparation of thier inauguration by President Mohammadu Buhari and the APC presidential flagbearer, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
Responding, the Ohinoyi prayed God to continue to guide the Governor in his quest to put Kogi State on a greater pedestal of growth and development.
