Security Breach- Governor Bello Talks Tough, Orders Demolition of Shanties and Brothels Across The State.

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has directed Council Chairmen of the 21 Local Government Areas as well as traditional rulers to take charge of security of lives and property in their domains.

Governor Bello gave the directive in a meeting with Council Chairmen and first class traditional rulers in Lokoja

The Governor said the directive was issued based on recent security challenges across the State occasioned by criminally minded people.

He also directed the immediate and unconditional ban on the use of face and nose masks respectively based on intelligence report that criminals perpetrate thier deeds covering their faces with face caps, nose masks and sunglasses.

According to the Governor, the use of nose masks will only be allowed in hospitals and related Institutions.

Governor Bello who equally ordered the immediate closure of all shanties located near companies at Obajana, Okaba, Lokoja, Osara, Zariagi and Itobe among others urged owners of such industries to provide decent accomodation for factory workers with a view to checking crimes and criminality.

The Governor also directed that trailer parks located along highways in the State must have adequate accomodation as well and stop constituting a source of gridlock to road users.

According to the Executive Governor, brothels which harbors criminals and where immoral acts are perpetrated are also to be closed down while unregistered motorcycles and tricycles would be banned.

Some Traditional Rulers in Attendance

In thier various remark, the Attah Igala, His Majesty Matthew Alhaji Opaluwa, Ohinoyi of Ebiraland Alhaji Ado Ibrahim, Obaro of Kabba Oba Solomon Owoniyi and Ohimege-Igu of Kotonkarfe, Alhaji Abdulrazak Isah-Koto commended Governor Yahaya Bello led administration for his efforts at protecting the lives and property of the people of the State and assured of thier unwavering commitment towards achieving a safer Kogi State.
