Public spirited individuals and Corporate organizations have been charged to assist government in its efforts at providing infrastructural facilities for institutions of higher learning in the Country.

Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja, FUL, Professor Akinwumi Olayemi made the call at the inauguration of some projects by the Pro-Chancellor of the Institution at the Adankolo and Felele campuses of the University in Lokoja.

Professor Olayemi said the call became imperative in view of the need for collaboration between government and corporate Organisations to develop Universities across the nation infrastructure-wise.

He commended the efforts of TETFUND and the Federal Ministry of Works for their various intervention at the Institution.

According to him, plans are on to get indigenes of the State committed to the provision of facilities for the Institution as part of their contributions to achieve set goals.

Earlier, the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the third Governing Council of Federal University Lokoja, FUL, Senator Chris Adighije, while inaugurating projects at the institution, described the development as a milestone in the history of the School.

Senator Adighije, who commended the efforts of the Vice Chancellor, Professor Akinwumi Olayemi for building on the legacies of his predecessors, said the projects would enhance the credibility of the Institution nationwide.

While appreciating TETFUND for providing support to Institutions, the Pro-Chancellor expressed appreciation to the body stating that the law setting it up was being reviewed to enable beneficiaries make input on the projects to be executed.

On ASUU/Federal Government feud, Senator Adighije said concerted efforts are on to resolve the dispute and put a permanent end to incessant strike by the Union.

Projects inaugurated by the Pro-Chancellor, include; Federal University Printing Press at the Adankolo Campus, Signage of the school, Access roads linking faculties of the University, and Tree planting at the permanent site to also commemorate the birthday of the Pro-Chancellor, Senator Chris Adighije.
