The Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN), has assured of smooth working relationship between it and Management of Houses of Assembly across the country to strengthen the workings of the Legislature.

The President of PASAN, Mohammed Usman gave the assurance during a visit to the Kogi State House of Assembly.

The President who was in the State on an official engagement said such collaboration was capable of enhancing good legislation that could translate to the wellbeing of the people both in the State and the country as a whole.

He urged the Leadership of the Kogi State House of Assembly to sustain its good works geared towards making life meaningful for its workforce.

He however stressed that the National Office will not hesitate to back any State Chapter of the association facing challenges in their states, citing the ongoing crises in Benue State as unacceptable and one that the National Office has risen to address to ensure sanity in the Union.

Comrade Usman commended the Speaker for his exemplary leadership and willingness to address issues affecting his Members, saying his style of leadership was not only exemplary but also impressive.

He called on the Members of the Association to continue to put in their best in their respective duties, promising that PASAN was working assiduously to ensure a uniform salary structure in the country that will address all interests relating to their welfare and expressed gratitude to the Clerk of the House, Alhaji Sule Ahmed Chogudo for the warm reception accorded him.

Earlier, the Clerk of the Kogi State House of Assembly and Head of Legislative Service, Alhaji Sule Ahmed Chogudo who received the PASAN President on behalf of the Speaker, Rt Hon. Aliyu Umar ,explained efforts so far made by the 8th Assembly to improve the working condition of staff and reiterated the Speaker’s commitment to the continued wellbeing of the staff and as well formulate good laws that could positively transform all segments of the state.

He told the PASAN President of the cordial relationship existing between the Executive and Legislative Arms and assured that on the part of the Management no stone would be left unturned in pushing for the total wellbeing of staff as already demonstrated in the implementation of minimum wage to all benefiting staff.

He promised that the staff welfare would continue to receive priority attention as they work together to boost their morale for optimum productivity.
