Christians have been charged to participate actively in politics towards fulfilling God’s mandate over the country.

The Pastor in charge of Kogi Province Five of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ambassador Parish, Pastor Henry Oluwole Asarapo made the call in Lokoja at a programme organized for his retirement from public service.

Pastor Asarapo said the call became imperative in view of the apathy of Christians to politics and the electoral system.

According to him, governance is part of God’s desire for his children hence the need for them to take charge to make the needed impact on the nation.

He said 2023 general elections is key to the survival of the nation and appealed to the people to pray for a hitch free transition.

The PICP expressed appreciation and thanks to God for helping him throughout his public service career as well as his continued faithfulness in the years ahead.

In a remark, the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Doctor Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade described Pastor Asarapo as a realiable and dependable person who kept his record intact in state public service.

Doctor Mrs Arike urged him to continue in his commitment to the service of God and humanity as He faithfully rewards those that served him diligently.

She assured of the present administration’s policy to the sustenance of religious harmony in Kogi State as well request continue prayers for the overall success of the government.

Highlights of the programme was the cutting of cake and presentation of gifts to the retiree.
