
Kogi State Chapter of Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, ASUSS, has felicitated with Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo on his historic one year in office.
State Chairman of the Union, Comrade Emejeh Ogwu Sunday stated this in a statement in Lokoja.
Comrade Emejeh said the Secondary school sector has witnessed tremendous improvement in the last one year infrastructural wise and personnel wise restoring the lost glory of the sector.
According to him, the payment of WAEC/NECO fees for students in public schools, domestication of retirement age for teachers in the State has given a great relief to parents and the Union thereby giving the State an edge in the education sector.
The State ASUSS Chairman described the Governor as education friendly and appealed for the recruitment of more teachers in the Secondary school sector as well as prompt attention to all outstanding arrears and emonulments of both serving and retired staff of the Union.
He also felicitated with the Head of Service, Doctor Elijah Evinemi, the workaholic Commissioner for Education, Wemi Jones for being part of the success story of Governor Ododo in this one year anniversary praying for more wisdom, sound health for the Governor, his family and cabinet members as Kogi State move to the next level of academic excellence.
The Union leader reassured of the unflinching support of ASUSS to the continued success story of the present administration in the years ahead.
