Nigeria Cricket Federation: Kogi State Won North Central Zonal Elimination National Women Championship.

Kogi State Team has won the National Women Championship competition in the North Central Zone.

The State Sports Director, Mr. Obakachi Onipe disclosed this while presenting the Gold Medal won to the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe in Lokoja.

Mr. Obakachi Onipe said five States compete for the competition with Kogi State emerging victorious.

The Director of Sports said the present administration under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has done well in the Sports sector through the commitment and dedication of the Hon Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe.

He assured the State Government and the Commissioner of their dedication towards sporting activities in the state.

Mr. Onipe urged the Athletes to dedicate their efforts more to winning more laurels at all times for the State.

Speaking, the Head Coach of the Team Mr. Omolaiye Elisha restated their loyalty and commitment to the growth of cricket Game in the state and the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe for his assistant to the growth of the Team in the state and Nigeria at large.

Responding, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development Hon Aridaojo Monday Anyebe said the present administration under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo will continue to support the activities of all sporting programmes in the State.

Hon. Anyebe commended the Athletics, the Coach for their zeal and dedication to the cricket games in the state.

The Commissioner commended the state Governor Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for taking sports and Youth as one of his focal points in his agenda.
