New Executive to run the affairs of the State Chapter of the Women Committee of the Amalgamated Union of Public Corporation, Civil Service, Technical and Recreational Services Employees(AUPCTER) has been elected.

The New Executive were elected unopposed following the expiration of the former Executive led by Comrade Alami Ibrahim.

At the delegate Conference of the Union in Lokoja the State Chairman of AUPCTER, Engineer Ahmed Enesi Dauda, said the Union decision to pave way for women activities was borne out of the desire to give them the privilege to explore areas of Women related
Programs which is of relevance to them.

He charged the new Executive to work in tarderm with the objectives of AUPCTER as well as the Leadership of the State to promote healthy working relationship and welfare of Members.

In her post election speech, the New Chairperson of the State Women Committee of AUPCTER, Comrade (Builder) Modupe Obafemi promised to uphold the ideals of the Union and work to ensure that more women are encouraged to be involved in activities of the union to enhance the welfare of Members and as well foster the growth of the Union.

She thanked the State Chairman and other Members of the Executive for their roles in ensuring smooth transition to a new Leadership of the Kogi State Women Committee of AUPCTER.

Earlier, the immediate past Chairperson of State Women Committee of Aucpter, Comrade Alami Ibrahim while thanking all who supported them through out her leadership, charged the new Executive to continue to work in unity if they are to surmount the challenges they might be confronted with in future and prayed God to give them the wisdom and strength to carry out their responsibilities.

In their separate remarks, a Former State NLC Chairman, Comrade James Odaudu and the State Chairperson of Women Committee of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade, Habibat Umar- Ibrahim enjoined the Members of the Executive to get in touch with other women in the Union to build a formidable Union that can contribute meaningfully to the socio economic development of their immediate community and the nation as a whole.

High point of the program was the taking of oath by the new Executive.
