Maintain highest Moral and Academic Standard, avoid inappropriate behavior and activities.- VC FUL warns Matriculating Students

As the Federal University Lokoja matriculates three thousand seven hundred and sixty five students in It’s ninth matriculation, the Vice Chancellor Professor Olayemi Akinwumi has warned students to desist vices capable of truncating thier academic career.

Professor Akinwumi who handles down the warning at the Adankolo Campus of the Institution in Lokoja said such activities as involvement in cultism and cult related activities, examination malpractices, improper dressing and flagrant disobedience to the rules and regulations of the University as contained in the students handbook could result in expulsion from the Institution.

” Note that you are addressed the way you dress. You therefore, need to dress well at all times to avoid the temptation of being raped or seduced by either male or female counterparts as the case may be. Don’t expose the area of your bodies that may lead to unnecessary attraction of the opposite sex. The males amongst you are not expected to wear tattered jeans/clothes and unkempt hair”

He charged the matriculating students to be of high moral standard, be focused towards achieving set goals.

The VC promised the University assistance in getting students register for a skill acquisition programme alongside thier academic work as well as register such with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC, to make them self reliance after graduation.

Some of the students who spoke after the matriculation promised to be of good conduct to achieve set goals.

Highlights of the matriculation was administration of oath to the 3,765 students across the five faculties of the University by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi .
