Kogi Teachers Recruitment In Line With International Best Practices- Commissioner.

Kogi State Government says the process of recruitment for Teachers into the State Civil Service is transparent and in line with world best international practices.

State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Wemi Jones stated this at the ongoing All Nigeria Confederation Of Principals Of Secondary Schools, North Central Zone Mandatory Continuing Professional Training in Lokoja.

Mr Jones said government would employ professionals in the field of education to fill existing vacancies in Schools across the State.

According to him, the target is to recruit 4,000 Teachers for a start in a bid to revamp the sector, and regain the lost glory in education which hitherto the North Central was known for.

The Commissioner said Governor Yahaya Bello led administration has given high priority to the sector far above UNESCO required standard of 27% by setting side 30% of next year’s budget for education.

He reaffirmed the unflinching commitment of the present administration to the growth of the sector which has resulted in providing of infrastructure across the State for a conducive environment for teaching and learning.

Hon. Wemi Jones urged ANCOPSS to continued in it’s partnership with the State Government to achieve set goals.
