
Kogi State Comptroller of Vigilante Service, KGSVS, Rtd Navy Commander Abdulrahman Maryam Adinoyi has restated the determination of the Service under his watch to rid the State of Criminals and their hideouts.
Rtd Commander Adinoyi stated this at a Press Conference in Lokoja on successes recorded in the past few months of his leadership of the State Command of KGSVS.
He said Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo has provided an enabling environment for the personnel of the Service to tackle crimes and criminality through provision of vehicles, gadgets, kits and ammunition as well as payment of the new national minimum wage to them to boost their morale.
According to him, men of the State Vigilante Service recently bust hideout of criminals within Lokoja metropolis and recovered various household items, motorcycles, Fans, Air-conditioner and house use electrical gadgets as well as rescued of eight Corps members kidnapped along Itobe/Ajaokuta highway.
Rtd Commander Adinoyi said the Service is in constant synergy with other security agencies and those arrested in recent operations have been handed over to the Nigeria Police for prosecution.
He disclosed that measures are also put in place to check indiscipline among the personnel and those found culpable are dealt with accordingly.
The Comptroller urged the people of the State to partner with the Service in the area of intelligence gathering and sharing to achieve Governor’s mandate and desire of a crime free Kogi State.
