Kogi State Joins Oil Producing States, Receives First Tranche Of 13% Derivation Fee.

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello says the State has been officially recognized as an oil producing State.

Governor Bello stated this during the State Executive Council meeting in Lokoja.

He said with the development, the State has received the first tranche and payment of 13% derivation fee from the Federation Account.

According to him the action was an indication that Kogi State, being a northern State has been recognized officially and confirmed as one the oil producing States.

He said the development wouldn’t have been possible without the effort and support of President Muhammadu Buhari and the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission and all relevant stakeholders.

Governor Bello expressed appreciation to the people for thier unflinching support, the Presidency and the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission for the success achieved so far.
