.As part of efforts to combat the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, the Victims Support Fund, VSF, Task Force has donated personal protective equipment and food to the Kogi State Government to be distributed to three thousand households across the State.

The VSF also drilled three boreholes for schools at Government Girls Secondary School, Sarkin Noma, Lokoja, Etahi Community Secondary School, Okene and Muslim Community College, Aiyetoro Gbedde.

In a message to the occasion, Governor Yahaya Adoza said the efforts of the organization was a recognition of his administration’s commitment to provide qualitative education to the people of the State.

Represented by his Depuy, Chief Edward Onoja, the Governor said education was number one of the four thematic areas of development of his administration.

He urged befitting schools to protect and take proper care of the facility provided as well as assured the donor of equitable distribution to expected beneficiaries.

Chairperson of the Victims Support Fund COVID-19 Task Force, Mrs Toyosi Ogunsuji said the organization was set up by the Federal Government in 2014 as first private sector led humanitarian response initiative to provide sustainable support for victims of terrorism, insurgency and banditry in the Northeastern part of the country.

Mrs Ogunsuji said the provision of boreholes to Schools was aimed at containing any possible outbreak of communicable disease through regular hand washing.
