The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command, CP Bethrand C. Onuoha has decorated the newly promoted Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Ochoma ThankGod, seven (7) Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), two (2) Superintendent of Police (SP), twenty-eight (28) Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in a grand ceremony at the M.M. Katsina Conference Hall, State Headquarters, Lokoja marking a significant milestone in their careers.

The event was graced by distinguished guests, including the Traditional Chiefs (Madaki of Adankolo), members of the Command Management Team, other senior Officers both serving and retired, relatives and well-wishers.

The event is a significant occasion for the Police Organization, marking a time of recognition to inspire fearlessness and forge a legacy of success.

In his address, the Commissioner of Police, charged the newly promoted Officers to exhibit the core values of service, discipline, sacrifice, professionalism and selflessness in the discharge of their duties.

He commended their dedication and hard work, which have earned them these well-deserved promotions.

The CP further stressed that the new ranks represent increased responsibilities stressing that Police are servants of the people not master and must be fair and not corrupt justice.

The CP expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM and the Chairman, Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu, mni, Rtd for recognizing Officers through promotions.

He stated further that promotion comes with greater challenges, contrary to the saying that, “the higher you go, the cooler it becomes”.

He restated the need for cooperation of the communities and families as being crucial in managing these responsibilities as security is a shared responsibility, not just the duty of Security Agencies alone.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted and decorated Officers, ACP Ochoma ThankGod expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Inspector-General, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, the Chairman, Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu, mni, Rtd, for finding them worthy of the promotion.

He expressed appreciation to the CP for his exceptional leadership and outstanding legacy, while acknowledging that the new chapter is a call for them to double their efforts in discharging their mandates.
