Christians have been charged to remain focused in the process of going higher in spiritual and physical achievements.
The Assistant General Overseer, Education/Training, Northern Nigeria of the Redeemed Christian Church of God Pastor E A Odeyemi stated this in a message to the Sunday School Teachers Conference, 2022 of Kogi Province One.
Pastor Odeyemi whose message was delivered by the Region 24 Sunday School Cordinator, Pastor Mrs Christiana Oluwagbemi said this year’s conference with the theme; “Going Higher” is with a difference considering Apostle Paul’s admonition to Christians to remain steadfast and make impact on lives in thier spiritual journey.
Speaking on the topic; “Pressing Towards the Mark” the Pastor in charge of RCCG, Kogi One Pastor Zacheaus Adeniji in his message taken by AP Tayo Abejide urged Christians in the spiritual pursuits to strive to operate in the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit, be a student of God’s word, be vigilant to make the needed impact.
Also speaking on the topic: “The Teacher with The Growth Mindset”, the Assistant Sunday School Cordinator for Kogi One, Doctor Ralp Osele said a teacher with the growth mindset must be teacheable, welcome constructive criticism, solve challenges and problems among other things.
Another resource person, Deacon Emmanuel Olorunniyi who spoke on the topic; “The Unstoppable Teacher Jesus Model” said ; ” Faith guides and support the teachers to know that those challenges confronting them in the course of thier ministry are temporary and that problems and fear would be solved in God’s time and having faith that He is walking the path with us is all we need to win the battles of life and go higher”.
AP Comfort Omoloba in her submission on the topic; “Training, An Essential For Teachers in Ministry” said the need for training and retraining cannot be overemphasized as it heightens morale and boosts employees’ productivity, reduce turnover and brings about improvement in efficiency and effectiveness.
Earlier in her welcome remark, the Sunday School Provincial Cordinator of Kogi Province One, Pastor Mrs Taiye Obanawu said the theme of this year’s conference: “Going Higher”, reflect the need for Sunday School Teachers to aspire higher for effectiveness in thier teaching ministry.
Pastor Obanawu expressed appreciation to all the resource persons and Sunday School Teachers for attending the conference urging them to put to use all the teachings and seminars received for effectiveness in the days ahead.
Online teachings were received from Pastor Mrs Folu Adeboye, Pastor E. A Odeyemi among others.
The Sunday School Teachers Conference which is a yearly national programme of the Redeemed Christian Church of God featured prayers, seminars, questions and answers session and interactive session and was held at the Jordan Provincial headquarters Parish of the Church in Lokoja.
