The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, ASP Ruth Taiye Awi says the rights and privileges of women in this Zone will continue to be a priority at all times.
ASP Awi stated this in a statement in Lokoja.
According to her, women across the nation continue to demonstrate incredible strength, resilience, and determination so as to change negative gender narratives hence the need for all round support.
On the theme of this year International Women’s Day, “Accelerate Action ” she appealed for immediate action by Government at all levels, Non Governmental Organisations, NGOs and even the menfolk.
She said the Command is also poised to sustain the protection of women and girl child against all forms of abuse as stipulated by the law to check all forms of
social injustice while strengthening advocacy against gender based violence.
She called for more support across all spheres of life for women to succeed in their chosen endeavours devoid of suppression, intimidation, and violence.
The Command PPRO said more support is needed towards creating a more equitable and just society for women and girls to thrive in the nation.
