
Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has restated his administration commitment to the full implementation of the Child’s Act Rights in line with the United Nations’ Convention on the Rights of the Child, UNCRC,.
Governor Bello stated this at the in a message to the 5th inauguration of the Kogi State Children’s Parliament held in Lokoja.
Represented by his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja, the Governor said children are potential leaders hence the need to ensure they grow up healthy, well educated to be successful in life.
He said his administration would continue to protect lives and property of it’s citizens while entrenching the thematic areas of the APC led government in the State in education, science and technology, health and infrastructural developments across the State for a fair deal for children to realise thier potentials.
The Governor charged parents to inculcate good moral values in thier children calling on the future leaders to shun examination malpractices, cultism and other social vices.


Earlier, the Speaker of the 5th Parliament, Gideon Amobeda commending the Governor for his many feats which include the protection of the rights of children, women and People living with disabilities, PLWDs.


Present at the occasion were the Secretary to the State Government, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development and the State Head of Civil Service among others.
