As part of measures to address the security challenges in Ijumu Local Government Area, the Council Executive Chairman, Alhaji Taofek Isah has inaugurated ” Ijumu Security Task Force”.

Inaugurating the Task Force at the Council Secretariat in Iyara, Alhaji Taofek said the development became necessary to complement the effort of the State Government in tackling crimes and criminality in the nook and cranny of the local government.

The Council Boss charged members of the Task Force to work together as a team and in tandem with the objectives of setting it up to achieve set goals.

The Chairman of the Task Force is retired ASP Kayide Olorunmaiye and National President, Ijumu Development Association while other members are; DPO Iyara and Aiyetoro respectively, Director DSS Iyara, DO-NSCDC Iyara, OC Immigration Iyara, SA Security Ijumu LGA, DOS, Ijumu Council.

Others are Commander JTF Ijumu, Representative of Olujumu of Ijumu, Head Hunter group Ijumu and one representative each from the three district of the local government.

In a related development, the Chairman also donated two patrol vehicles and three motorcycles for operational use by the 26 newly constituted members of local hunters from the three district of the local government with a code named; ” Ijumu Strike Force”
