The Federal Commissioner, representing Kogi State at the National Population Commission, NPC, Abuja Engr Yori Afolabi has been described as an embodiment of exceptional leadership and humility as a true and genuine Son of Ijumu Kingdom, Kogi State and Nigeria at large.

The immediate past Secretary of Ijumu Local Government Council, Hon. Agbona Olugbemiro Daniel, gave the commendation in a statement.

Hon. Agbona said Engr Afolabi’s refined, humble, and compassionate nature has left an indelible mark on communities across Ijumu Kingdom and State as well, describing his unwavering dedication to overall development as second to none.

Beyond Hon Olugbemiro’s description of Engr Yori Afolabi unvawering commitment to the development of his immediate community, Alhaji S. O Mohammed, former Permanent Secretary, Kogi State Ministry of Health said the Hon Federal Commissioner’s contributions go far beyond the boundaries of Iyah Gbedde Community and even beyond Okun .

He said…. ” I first encountered the Hon when he was a member representing Ijumu in our House of Assembly . He virtually wrote the name of Ijumu in gold in those days . As then Director of Establishments in the office of the HOS , I can confirm to you that most positive achievements of that Government emanated from the valuable counsels he gave the Government”.

According to him, Engr Yori is a golden fish which quietly has been making meaningful impacts and development across the nook and crannies of the State and beyond Kogi boundaries.

“I don’t know if I should say this , but as recent as our ongoing struggles for the realization of Okun State , Hon Yori has been of tremendous assistance to Okun Development Association . But he never blows his own trumpet !”.
