Kogi State Chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, ASUSS, has described the domestication and implementation of the 40years of service and 65years retirement age for teachers in the State as a legacy that will strengthen the education sector.

Chairman of Union, Comrade Ranti Ojo Matthew stated this the election of new officials of All Nigeria Conference Of Principals of Secondary Schools, ANCOPSS, in Lokoja

Comrade Ojo said with the release of the circular to that effect by the State Head Of Civil Service, the education sector will have more experienced professionals to implement one of the thematic areas of the present administration.

He expressed appreciation to Governor Yahaya Bello for the bold initiative to revamp the education sector and provide the needed infrastructure conducive for teaching and learning.

ASUSS Boss also commended the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Folashade Ayoade Arike, the State Head of Civil Service, Mrs Hannah Odiyo, Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Wemi Jones, the Chairperson, Kogi State Science Technical, Teaching Service Commission, STETSCOM, Mrs Cecilia Enezoza Cook and all relevant stakeholders for thier input in making the policy a reality.

On the recent promotion implementation by the State Government, the Chairman debunked rumours making round that some teachers bribed officials of the State Accountant General office as untrue and baseless that efforts are on to ensure that the promotion is implemented to all it’s members.

Comrade Ojo while pledging the continued support of Teachers in the State to the execution of Government lofty agenda for the sector appealed for the speedy conclusion of recruitment of teachers in the secondary sector.
