The Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission has felicitated with the newly elected Chairmen and Chairpersons of the 21 Local Government Areas on their victory at the polls.

The Commission in a statement also congratulated the 239 Councillors who emerged victorious at the Council elections during the weekend.

The Statement which was signed by the Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Andas Malik noted that the recently concluded peaceful election was a display of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s commitment to democratic principles and the rule of law.

The Chairman maintained that the demonstration of the Governor is geared towards ensuring effective functioning of the third tier of government as enshrined in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He commended the All Progressive Congress, (APC), Family and Voters for their peaceful conduct and impressive turnout during the elections which he said accounted for the success of the candidates as well as the State Independent Electoral Commission, SIEC, for ensuring a smooth and hitch-free exercise.

Alhaji Andas expressed optimism that the newly elected Council Officials would do their people proud by providing leadership of positive impact in their respective areas to the admiration of the people who voted them into Office.

He disclosed that the Commission is prepared to partner with the Councils to train the newly elected Councillors thereby equipping them with necessary rudiments of law-making to fast track development in the Local Government Areas.

The Commission Chairman on behalf of himself, Members and Staff, wish the Local Government Chairmen, the Vice- Chairpersons and Councillors fruitful years of service to their people.
