The Kogi State Project Cordinator, State Operating Coordinating Unit, SOCU, Doctor Noah Alilu says three hundred and seventy two thousand households have been captured with over one point seven million in it’s data base.

Doctor Alilu disclosed while speaking in Lokoja on the activities of the office so far in Kogi State.

He said the office is building a data base of the poor and the vulnerable across the State under the National Social Safety Net towards reducing the level of poverty in the society.

According to him, the office which is World Bank assisted under the Federal Government initiatives has partnered with Kogi State Government on several fronts such as the YESSO implementation, Public Works initiative in which youths were empowered and the very poor and vulnerable assisted through the conditional transfer initiative as well.

The State Cordinator said the aim of programmes embarked upon was to reduce unemployment to the barest minimum.

Doctor Alilu urged Non Governmental Organization, Politicians, Philanthropists and we’ll to do individuals to partner with the office in reducing the level of poverty and unemployment in the society.

While commending the State Government for it’s support by paying it’s counterpart fund under the YESSO implementation programme which ended in year twenty, twenty, said it’s enumerators are constantly on the field to update the ongoing Rapid Response Register to assist those in dire need.

He restated the commitment of the office under the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management to cushion the economic hardship being experienced by Nigerians and equally block all loop holes and fraud by those who may want to circumvent the process of it’s operation at all levels.
