As Christians in Kogi State and the Country at large celebrate this year’s Christmas, the Chairman, Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Alhaji Malik Andas wants them to celebrate with the essence of the season at heart.
Andas desire is to see Christians share the season with Christians and non Christians alike as exemplified by Jesus Christ whose love and charity for humanity knew no bounds.
He posits that the Society would witness peace and progress if all that the life of Jesus Christ teaches are imbibed and enjoined them not to use the occasion to engage in life styles that negate the values of love, charity which the season connotes
He emphases the need for harmonious co-exitence amongst the people as no Society could witness progress in an atmosphere devoid of peace.
For him, the virtues of love, brotherliness, unity and cooperation strengthen the course of development and progress and urges the people irrespective of their religious, political and ethnic leaning to continue to work with the spirit of oneness for the speedy growth of the State.
On the efforts of the Present Administration in the State, Andas maintains, that Governor Yahaya Bello has through resilience and doggedness continued to pursue policies and programmes that have positive impact on the well being of the people despite the pausity of funds.
He expresses optimism that with collective responsibility and determination by the people, the State’s economic fortune will improve for the better to the benefit of the people.
On this premise, he called on the lovers of the progress and development of this Nation to rally round the young, dynamic and proactive Governor for the necessary support to obtain the Presidential ticket of this Country. He has what it takes and what has been lacking to secure this Country socially, economically and politically.
Therefore, let us give him the trial to salvage this Country.
The Chairman on behalf of Members, Staff of the Commission wishes Christians in Kogi State, happy Christmas and new year celebrations and calls for more prayers for the leadership of the State and the Country as a whole.
