Kogi State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Paul Igwebuike says training of private guards is the constitutional roles of the Corps.

Commandant Igwebuike stated this while speaking to journalists in Lokoja.

He the Corps has trained many private guards personnel since his assumption of office as well as the ongoing training for over 60 in the command headquarters, Lokoja.

According to him, the training is meant to assist conventional security agencies in the maintenance of law and order in the State as well as provide manpower for private organizations or individuals in need of security for safety of lives and property.

The NSCDC Boss said the Corps is ever ready to train and retrain guards for Institutions, organisations, schools and those interested in thier safety outside the conventional ones provided.

On the roles of Corps in keeping sustaining the relative peace in Kogi State, Commandant Paul Igwebuike said proactiveness is the key under his watch
to achieve set goals.

Commandant Igwebuike said the Command embarked on meetings, talks and discussion with relevant stakeholders prior to the protest that occurred in some parts of the country alongside Sister agencies to achieve the outcome recorded in the State.

He assured of the Command readiness in performing it’s duties in the State to bring the level of crimes and criminality to the barest minimum.

The Commandant expressed appreciation to Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for it’s support to security agencies and recent refurbishment of operational vehicle through the State Security Trust Fund.
