Ahead of presidential inauguration slated for tomorrow, the 29th May, 2023, the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, NSCDC, has deployed 3,000 personnel for a hitch free programme.

FCT Commandant, Peter Maigari who disclosed this at the Command headquarters said the personnel made up of the Rapid Response Team, Anti Vandals Unit, Intelligence, Crisis and Disaster Management Team, Armed Squad among others were to work alongside Sister Agencies to provide the much needed security for a peaceful transition of power.

Commandant Maigari charged the Officers and Men to be deployed to be diligent, selfless, dedicated and obey the rules of engagement in the discharge of their duties.

According to him, the personnel have directed to deal ruthlessly with criminal elements and maintain 24hours surveillance in and around the FCT.

The NSCDC FCT Commandant equally advised residents to comply strictly to laid down procedures on movement in and out of the City.

He called for synergy with the general public via information gathering and to report suspicious activities to the nearest security post for timely actions.
