Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello has announced automatic employment for Mrs Yahaya the wife of the late Commissioner for Special Duties in the State, Ismail Adesayo Yahaya.

Governor Bello who made the announcement on the sideline of the first matriculation ceremony for 1,004 students of the newly established Kogi State University, Kabba added that the employment would commence after the beneficiary must have ended the mourning of her husband.

According to him the State Government would also give all the children of the deceased, scholarship up to the First degree level in higher Institution of learning.

The Governor, who said that he got the news of the death of Ismaila, on his way to the occasion and that he learned that he slumped and died,expressed shock over the unfortunate incident.

He harped on the need for people to always go for medical check up to know their health status.
“We should not have lost Ismaila like that he stressed”

Governor Bello said the State Government has adequate healthcare institutions equipped with experienced personnel and facilities, to take care of the health of the people, citing the Reference Hospital in Okene and among others.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the establishment of the Kogi State University, Kabba, was one of his ambitions when he made up his mind to contest for the Governorship position of the state.

He said that while Kogi West Senatorial District is noted to have the highest number of Professors from the State, the district had no University, hence the need for such higher institution of learning in the area.

The Governor, who expressed delight that the University admitted students from the six geo-political regions of the country, apart from the state, ordered that their application fees be refunded to them.

He advised the students to be committed to their studies to ensure success in their respective field of endeavours.
