
The Federal Government has been called upon to stop the concessioning of the Ajaokuta Steel and Itakpe Iron Ore Mining companies in the state.
Governorship Candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) in the November eleventh Governorship election, Barrister Julius Eukpo made the call when the management of Kogi State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KOCCIMA) paid him a visit in Lokoja.
Speaking on the need to revitalize the moribund company, the governorship candidate of the Action Democratic Party, Barrister Julius Elukpo said if elected into office, he would work towards ensuring that the company was handed over to the State
.
Barrister Elukpo who noted that the companies has what it takes to make Kogi State industrialized, stressed that he would do all within his reach to make the state an industrial giant in the comity of States.
The Governor ship candidate said as an economist, he will ensure that the state has well equipped industrial layout for the business sector, noting that since creation of the state, there has not been a commercial layout as no government has shown interest in establishing it.
He stressed that as a manager, private sector participation was sacrosanct and promised to make the Local Government Areas, House of Assembly and the Judiciary Independent for effective Management and development.
Earlier, the President, Kogi State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KOCCIMA), Mr. Victor Ibrahim said the visit was to align themselves with the ADP Governorship aspirant as one of their own in view of his intention to contest the number one seat in the State.
Mr. Ibrahim opined that it was important to visit the aspirant before calling on others to roll out their plans for the state if elected.
He said the Association would be willing to partner with him if elected to make Kogi State great.
