
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has charged members of the newly inaugurated House of Assembly to remain focused in giving their best in terms of legislation to the State.
Governor Bello made the call when he received in audience the new Speaker, Principal Officers and other members of the State House of Assembly in Lokoja.
He said for them to achieve the best, there is the need to avoid unnecessary disputes and rivalry that could impact proper and result oriented legislation.
Governor Bello urged them to make sacrifices and commitment as thier watchwords to thier constituents even in the face of limited resources.

He commended the process leading to the emergence of the Speaker and other Principal Officers and appealed to opposition parties in the Assembly to support the policies of the Government.
According to him, the 7th Assembly worked harmoniously with the Executive and Judiciary hence the need for the 8th Assembly to build on the relationship.
Governor Bello assured the members of the non interference of the Executive in the operations of the Assembly.
In a remark, the new Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Aliu Umar Yusuf said that the 8th Assembly would commence legislative work immediately with the renovation of the burnt Assembly chamber.
