The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko Muhammad has described Justice Mary Odili as a potent ray of hope and beacon of strength to the womenfolk across Africa and beyond.

Justice Muhammad stated this in Abuja during a valedictory session in honor of Justice Odili as she bows out of office as the Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria after attaining the mandatory retirement age of seventy years.

He maintained that her impeccable attention to details was captivating and her robust contributions to the development of the Judiciary was worthy of emulation

Delivering her speech, Justice Mary Odili advocated immediate restructuring of the country to stir the ship on the right course.

The jurist whose meritorious landmark judgment had shaped the society was born on the 12th of May, 1952 at AmudiObizi, Ezinihitte – Mbaise L.G.A. of Imo State.

She rose through the ranks to become a Justice of the Supreme Court on the 23rd of June, 2011, in recognition of her sterling feats in the judiciary, the Federal Government conferred her with National Honour, Commander of the Federal Republic, CFR.
