The Management of Federal University Lokoja, FUL, has warn those encroaching into the Institution land at the Felele permanent site to desist henceforth.

FUL management in a statement issued in Lokoja said the warning became imperative in view of discovery made by the Management and security agents when they paid an on-the-spot assessment to the site and discovered various illegal activities of land grabbers in the area.

In his reaction to the development, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi expressed concern at the level at which some unpatriotic persons have gone by selling portions of the Institution land .

Professor Akinwumi said the University would no longer fold it’s hands on the issue as necessary lawful measure would be taken to arrest the situation.

He warned owners of the illegal structures to stop work forthwith or incur the wrath of the law.

In his words: ” The University Management was appalled by the level of unpatriotic activities of people who should be partners in progress with the institution, and therefore has instituted concrete moves immediately to inform all relevant stakeholders, while security agents have been stationed to arrest and prosecute trespassers”.

” It should be noted that encroaching into the landed property of the Federal University Lokoja and selling any portions of it is tantamount to stealing which will no longer be tolerated. Any further attempt will be met with severe penalties by relevant authorities of government”.

The statement further warned farmers likewise to stop unauthorized activities on the University land with immediate effect while those with crops growing on the land are given ample time to harvest thier farm produce.
