Senior citizens appeal for adoption of National Senior Citizens Act

Director-General National Senior Citizens Centre (NSCC), Dr Emem Omokaro has called on State Governments to adopt and domesticate the National Policy on Ageing as well as the National Senior Citizens Act 2017 to give senior citizens a sense of belonging.

Dr Emem made the call in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State at a town hall meeting organised by Ekiti Council of Elders in collaboration with the Nigerian Union of Pensioners, Ekiti State Chapter. 

She assured that the National Senior Citizens Centre will collaborate with the Ekiti Council of Elders and the State Government in developing intergenerational synergies that will leave legacies.

President of Ekiti Council of Elders, Professor Joseph Oluwasanmi appreciated the federal government through the National Senior Citizens Centre for making life meaningful for Senior Citizens who have spent a greater part of their productive years in service to the nation.
