Nigerians have once again been advised on the need to prepare a proper document to serve as will before death.

A legal luminary, Barrister Bamidele Suru gave the advice at the public presentation of a book titled ”Practical Approach To Probate Practice” written by Abdul Abraham Umar,(ESQ) in Lokoja.

Mr Suru, who was the book reviewer, said the advice has become imperative in view of series of litigations and crises that evolve after the death of a Testator who is most times the head of the family.

He described the book as a pragmatic approach to probate administration which is essential for all practicing lawyers, judicial and non judicial officers.

Mr Suru commended the ingenuity of the author, Abdul Abraham Umar (Esquire) for putting his experience in the probate registry over the years into writing for public consumption.

In a message to the launch of the book, Chairman of the occasion and former Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice Henry Olusiyi commended the author for taking a bold step in an area of law considered very important.

Justice Olusiyi equally described Abdul Abraham Umar Esquire as a man of integrity and proficiency in probate matters whose commitment to duties is second to none.

In a remark, a judge of the Kogi State High Court of Justice, Justice Josiah Majebi said the author has passion for probate matters which is shown with the diligence he attaches to his work.

Justice Majebi who applauded the author for bringing to public knowledge probate issues, called on his colleagues in the legal profession to emulate the resourcefulness inherent in him.

Also in a message to the occasion, the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mohammed Sani, SAN, said the one hundred and seventy page book is a direct approach to probate matters and as such recommend to the legal profession.

In a remark, the President, Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Usman Momoh-jimoh who extolled the virtues of the author, described him as a prolific writer.

Other judges who spoke at the occasion including Justice Esther Haruna, Justice Umar Etsu, Chairman Magistrate Association of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter, Osmond Onoja on behalf of NBA, Lokoja chapter and the Chief Judge all described Abdul Abraham Umar Esquire as an incorruptible legal officer whose presence at the probate registry has brought sanity to the hitherto corrupt department of the judiciary
