National President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Comrade Chris Isiguzo has advocated for unity of purpose to achieve the set goals of the Union.
He stated this while addressing members of the Kaduna Council of the NUJ in Kaduna.
Comrade Chris Isiguzo who recalled the ugly incidents in the build-up to the council’s election last December maintained that no meaningful developments can be achieved in an atmosphere of acrimony and rancour.
The National President urged the council chairman to extend the olive branch to aggrieved members for the progress of the council.
Comrade Isiguzo expressed optimism that the Asma’u-led EXCO would leave an indelible imprint in the remaining part of her tenure and urged her to remain focused and determined.

Earlier, Kaduna Council Chairman of the NUJ, Comrade Asma’u Halilu who highlighted some of the achievements of the council in the last five months attributed the giant strides recorded so far to the tremendous support enjoys from members and partners alike.
She maintained that capacity-building is underway to improve the professional conduct of members in collaboration with individual and corporate organizations in the state.
Former Chairman of the council, Comrade Yunusa Aliyu, who spoke on behalf of former chairmen and veterans of the council commended Comrade Asma’u Halilu describing her as capable and equal to the task.
The highlight of the event was the inauguration of projects executed by the Comrade Asma’u led EXCO by the national President.
