The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has concluded arrangements for the successful hosting of the maiden edition of the National Para-Sports Festival in Abuja.
In a statement by the Director of Press and Public Relations of the Ministry, Mohammed Manga, the Event will run from April 9 to15, 2022.
The Statement explains that the Games is aimed at giving the People Living With Disability in sports a sense of belonging and opportunity to exhibit their potential.
Para-Sports has produced the highest number of medals in the Paralympic Games for the country since Nigeria started participating.
Fifteen Para-Sports are expected to participate in the median edition of the Festival.
They include Para-Powerlifting, Para-Athletics, Para-Table Tennis, Deaf Sports, Para-Soccer, Wheel Chair Tennis, Para-Badminton, Para-Canoeing, Sitting Volleyball, Wheel Chair B/Ball, Amputee Football, Para-Swimming, Para-Taekwondo, and Para-Shooting.
