Kogi State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has debunked the socio media report that One Mr.David Bunmi Ipinaiye died in the organization custody in Ponyan, Yagba East Local Government Area of the State.

State Commandant of the Corps, Suleiman Ibrahim Mafara stated this in Lokoja while addressing Newsmen.

According to Commandant Mafara, the deceased was called for questioning over allegation of attempted murder using a cutlass on a boy suspected to be befriending the daughter.

He said upon counseling, the deceased was said to have demanded for water which the officer in charge left to buy and met him gasping for breath and immediately taken to the ECWA hospital, Ponyan where he was later confirmed dead.

The State Commandant urged the media to always verify thier information before publication as the office of the Command is always ready to give credible information as regards thier operations or cases being handled.

Commandant Mafara said that it was not the son of the deceased that was involved but rather the daughter stressing that the Command awaits the autopsy report to actually confirm the cause of death of Mr. David Bunmi Ipinaiye.
