Mentorship Prog: Kogi State Govt Restates Commitment To Worthy Legacy In The Education Sector.

Kogi State Government has assured of its resolve to leave worthy legacies in the education sector.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Public Relations, Ambassador Ahmed Bolori gave the assurance while speaking with newsmen at the Government Day Secondary School Adankolo, Lokoja.

Ambassador Bolori said the present administration was poised to provide a conducive learning environment for students which led to the execution of model schools across the state.

He noted that in a bid to encourage students in their educational pursuit, the Governor approved the school adoption and mentorship programme as initiated by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

While addressing students on the need to be hard working and respectable citizens of the country, the Special Adviser urged them to contribute their quota to the development of the country through diligence in their studies.

Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Mr. Wemi Jones said the essence of the School Adoption and Mentorship programme was
to impart the spirit of competition among students.

Mr Jones explained that the program was aimed at encouraging/challenging students to desire to become responsible citizens just like the respected personalities that lecture them

He urged public spirited individuals and corporate bodies to partner/ join hands with government in moving the education sector to greater heights.

According to the Commissioner, the programme has received great acceptance from the public as well as non-governmental organizations.

On his part the Principal of Government Day Secondary School Adankolo, Chief Yakub Ajofe expressed great delight at the transformation in the school, noting that it was a morale booster for the students.

Some of the students, Gabriel Omojo, Adebayo David, Onoja Onuche and Joseph Favor thanked the state government for providing a conducive environment for teaching and learning, promising to face their studies seriously and justify government’s investment..
