Personnel of the Kogi State Vigilante Service have charged to redouble their efforts in the fight against crimes and criminality across the State.

Comptroller General, of the Service, Commander Abdulrahman Maryam Adinoyi Rtd gave the charge at end of the year party and award night of the the KSVS in Lokoja.

CG Adinoyi said the occasion affords the Service the opportunity to recognise modest performance of personnel in crime fighting as well as diligence in the line of duty.

On his achievement in office upon assumption of the Command, he said the welfare and morale of personnel have been boosted through provision of kits and uniforms for the 2,750 men and officers by the State Government.

According to him, personnel of KSVS have also been captured and gazetted into the Kogi State Civil Service with full implementation of the minimum wage to all as well.

He said his leadership of the Command has also promoted unity and strengthen the existing synergy among security agencies in the State, implementation of campus security in all tertiary institutions in the State, created five Sector Commands amongst others.

The CG expressed appreciation to Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo for his relentless support for the Command in the areas of welfare, logistics and provision of kits and it’s accessories to personnel of KSVS.

Goodwill messages were received from representatives of the State Security Adviser, Cdr Jerry Omodara, Rtd, that of State of Head Of Service, and other security agencies in attendance who charged personnel to be more dedicated to service and obey the rules of engagement.

Twenty-One people were recognised with various awards for thier contributions to the Service, as well as officers who excel in the course of performing thier official duties.

The KSVS CG also bagged an award as: “Sustainable Security Leader of the year”.

In response to the award bestowed on him, Commander Abdulrahman Maryam Adinoyi promised to continue to sustain his security consciousness to rid the State of crimes and criminality.

He also expressed appreciation to the State Security Trust Fund for continued assistance to the Service.
