
Kogi State Council of the Trade Union Congress, TUC, has described year 2024 as a turning point in the history of the State especially as it relates to workers welfare with expectations of a greater 2025.
Chairman of the Council, Comrade Sule Ahmed Tijani stated this in his new year message to the people of the State.
According to him, the coming on board of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo led administration brought a sigh of relief to workers as prompt attention were given to their welfare which brought relief to all in the midst of the economic challenges witnessed in 2024.
The TUC Chairman said Governor Ododo led administration displayed enough capacity in governance within a short period brought restoration to the people of the State, workers and pensioners alike by giving high priority to their welfare.
He equally saluted the doggedness of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka at mending the fence between Government and the Organised Labour which sustained the industrial relations in the State.
The Labour leader commended the State Head Of Civil Service, Doctor Elijah Evinemi, as being there always for the Civil Servants the Accountant General, Hajia Habitat Tijani for sustained support for workers as well as the Auditor General of the State, Alhaji Yakubu Okala and Doctor Ranti Ojo for their Unwavering commitment for industrial relations in Kogi State.
Comrade AhmedTijani restated the Council’s resolve to partner with the State Government in the new year to build on the relationship of a greater working relationship alongside NLC, JNSPC, and all SAC members and appealed to workers to remain resolute in giving their maximum support to government good policies and programmes in 2025.
