Kogi State Judiciary has set up the Directorate of Training and Establishment to enhance the performance of judicial officers.

The State Acting Chief Judge, Justice Josiah Majebi disclosed this in Lokoja at the inauguration of Council of Judges.

Justice Majebi said with proper and adequate training, judicial officers will be able to perform at optimum and dispenser justice without further delay.

He said with the constitution of Council of Judges in place decision concerning the day to day running of the Judiciary will be one of their sole responsibility for transparency and good governance.

The CJ who decried the poor financial State and huge indebtedness of the judiciary however expressed confidence in the ability of Governor Yahaya Bello led administration to reverse the ugly situation.

The Acting CJ called for the support of all staff to address challenges confronting the State Judiciary.

According to him, with the constitution of Council of Judges, Judges at the headquarters would now be given supervisory roles over all the Directorates for smooth administration and to check excesses or abuse of office.

Justice Majebi restated his commitment to a zero tolerance for corruption and desire to make transparency, dedication and professionalism watchword of his leadership of the State Judiciary.

He assured of a periodic review of the financial State of the judiciary and also make the chairman of JUSUN as part of the Management to relay decisions taken and development to the junior staff whom he described as the pillar of the judiciary in terms of workforce.

On staff disposition,, he said his administration would be proactive and put the right peg in square holes by addressing all injustices in staff placement as well as the need for judges especially at the lower Courts to sit up in the discharge of thier duties.

The CJ in line with the reorganisation in the judiciary redeployed the Director of Personnel Management, Olori Adenike Shittu as the head of the new Directorate of Training and Establishment while Beatrice Ada Ezema takes over as the New DPM.
