Judiciary Staff in Kogi State have been warned to shun acts of corruption and indiscipline in the course of performing thier constitutional duties.

The State Acting Chief Judge, Justice Josiah Joe Majebi gave the charge at Idah Correctional Center in continuation of his decongestion exercise of Correctional facilities across the State.

Justice Majebi said the call is necessitated by the actions of some judicial staff feeding fat on the process of granting affidavit to members of the public in need of it.

On the ongoing exercise of decongestion of Correctional facilities, he lauded the collaborative efforts of critical stakeholders in the dispensation of administration of justice which has given Kogi State an edge above other States of the country.

According to him, Correctional Centers in the State have the least in terms of awaiting trial inmates which confirmed the synergy between the Courts, Correctional Centers, the Police, DSS, NBA, amongst others.

The Acting CJ said the State could be rated high in terms of compliance to the administration of criminal justice in the country.

On the eight awaiting trial inmates, Justice Majebi said there was nothing to review in thier cases as they are being attended to in the various High Courts handling thier cases and equally assigned a legal representation to an inmate who had none.
