Kogi State Govt Commences Distribution Of Relief Materials, Warn Against Diversion.

Kogi State Government has flagged off the distribution of relief materials to Local Government Areas affected by flood.

State Commissioner for Environment, Chief Victor Adewale Omofaiye who monitored the exercise said theitems were donated by the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, to the State Government.

Chief Omofaiye warned officials saddled with the distribution exercise against diversion of the materials meant for flood victims.

He appealed for more of such support from the Federal Government, Corporate Bodies and public spirited individuals to assist and reduce the pains of affected victims.

According to him, more materials would be distributed in the coming days as the present items are for those in IDP Camps.

The exercise was also monitored by the Acting Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Mr Margret AKuh.

Benefitting Local Government Areas are; Lokoja, Kogi, Ajaokuta, Ibaji, Idah, Ofu, Igalamela-Odolu, Bassa, Adavi and Omala.
