
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo has called for calm from students of the Federal University Lokoja, FUL, over recent accident resulting in death of students of the institution.
Governor Ododo made the call in a message to the visit of the Leadership of the National Association of Nigerian Students ,NANS, Zone C who paid him a condolence visit over the tragic loss of the Students of the Federal University, Lokoja.
Represented by the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Aridaojo Monday Anyebe Governor Ododo said his Government will do everything possible henceforth to ensure the safety of the students of the University to avoid the recurrence of the unfortunate incident.
He expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Body for their visit and assured of his commitment and dedication to c to the welfare of students and Youth in the state at all times.
The Governor condoled with the body, the affected families, the entire student community and the Nation at large for the unfortunate accident.
Speaking, the Coordinator Zone C of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANs, Daniel Friday Egga extends his deepest condolences to the State Government and people of Kogi State over the tragic loss of students from the Federal University, Lokoja.
Daniel Friday Egga on behalf of the body described the unfortunate incident as a great loss, to the affected families, the students community and the Nation at large.
He appealed to the State Government to ensure thorough investigation into the incident and put necessary measures in place to prevent future occurrences and prayed for the repose of the departed souls.
