Kogi CAN Elects New Officials: We’ll Partner with Govt to Sustain Religious Harmony says Apostle Adebayo Olaniyan

Kogi State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has elected new officials to run the affairs of the body for the next five years.

In his charge to the new Executives, the Chairman, North Central Zone of CAN, Reverend Isreal Akanji urged the new executives to be united in purpose and move the body to greater heights.

Reverend Akanji who said the new amended constitution of CAN now provides for rotation among the blocs has put to rest any perceived crises or injustice also appealed to all members of the body in Kogi State to put thier little efforts together to stir the ship of CAN to a safe landing.

He aplogised for the seemingly delay in the conduct of the election due to exigencies beyond his control.

In his remark, the immediate past Chairman, Bishop John Ibenu who expressed appreciation to God and members for thier support urged them to extend same to the executives.

In an interview, the new Kogi State CAN Chairman, Special Apostle, Doctor Adebayo Olaniyan thanked all members for finding him worthy of the position and promised to justify the confidence reposed in him.

Special Apostle Olaniyan appealed for the support of members of the body to succeed in office and assured of bringing new innovation into the body to achieve set goals.

While expressing appreciation to the State Government for its support to the State CAN, he promised continued partnership with government in ensuring religious harmony in the State.

The other executives elected are: Reverend Ogakwu Malachi Onailo from TEKAN/ECWA, as Vice Chairman, Reverend Ijoma Dennis of CCN as State Secretary, Paul Animazu as Asst Gen. Sec from CFN, and Pastor Isreal Adebisi from CPFN/PFN as Treasurer.

The NEW Executives

It would be recalled that the State CAN election was postponed from February when the tenure of the immediate past executives expired due to the absence of National Executives.
