
Kogi State Chapter of Trade Union Congress has felicitated with Governor Yahaya Bello on the occasion of it’s 31st Anniversary.
A statement signed by it’s chairman, Comrade Ojo Ranti Matthew in Lokoja said the anniversary called for a sober reflection on the State of the State.
According to the TUC Boss, while there are areas of development infrastructurally, significant improvement is still needed to move the State to an enviable heights.
He called for more focus on the Civil Service especially in the areas of payment of backlog of promotion arreas and implementation, leave bonus arrears, yearly incremental of salaries amongst others.
Comrade Ojo who also doubles as the State Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Secondary Schools, ASUSS, commended the determination of the present administration to recruit qualified teachers in secondary schools but called for a transparent process to employ the best to fill the already existing vacancies in schools across the State.
While also commending the modest achievement in the infrastructural development especially in the educational sector by Governor Yahaya Bello led administration, he appealed for speedy completion of all on going projects across the State for the overall benefits of it’s citizens.
